As more and more data centers are starting to pop up, people are reporting that the earth is resembling a motherboard from above. Our modern cities have always been square, with energy running in grids, but it is becoming more and more evident that data centers are looking like computer chips. It isn’t ironic that both a computer chip and a data center store and access information, so in reality humans are starting to build computer chips around the world. By definition a microchip controls operations, processes data, and manages information by routing electrical signals; is this not the same thing our cities and data centers do? What’s increasingly interesting is that microchips under a microscope resembles a city. Is it possible that everything we know is just a small part of a giant supercomputer?
